-Main character is likable and interesting
-Effective use of the 1st person perspective
-We see both the serious and funny sides of the cast
-EXCELLENT action sequences. I really found myself wondering how the heroes were going to get themselves out of trouble.
-Different perspective on the South than we usually see (is a pro-South novel written from a gun nut’s perspective)
-The writing is nothing interesting.
-Has some extraneous plot threads that could have been cut (the Tatooed Man, Julie’s parents could’ve been saved for the sequel)
Who should read this:
Urban fantasy fans, gun nuts, and fantasy fans who want to see a werewolf/vampire/ghost novel set in the South that isn’t True Blood and is much more palatable to a male audience.
